I got there

Linking to  Chookshed challenge

My challenge for September was my sheep tapestry but I had already made the decision to gift it to the thrift store.

I still had 3 of my mother's quilt tops to finish quilting.

They are all now finished although I didn't get a photo of the third quilt.

I have now quilted 5 for her this year and there are no more of hers in the queue.

The only challenge left undone are the applique quilts for the triplets.

Mid August progress

 Linking to Chookshed challenge

I have finished two more scarves for charity.

I finished quilting one of my mother's quilts and delivered it to her to finish stitching down the binding.

I need to finish quilting the next quilt.

I have had a lot of finishes this week.

Adding 2 extra scarf finishes

Firstly a scarf for charity.

I finished 13 pairs of fingerless mitts,  also for charity.

I finished quilting and binding a table runner.  This was a practice piece for different quilting designs and thread colours.

A finished quilt for a friend of DD #2 who is having health challenges.

A wedding quilt for a family friend.

A cushion to go with one of the quilts.

Finally a finish

Linking to Chookshed challenge

I have finally finished this project that has been a ufo for about 30 years.

There is one more little ornament that is already finished and attached to the wreath.

That is at home and I will tie them all on the next time I am there.

End of May catch up

I finished binding the little charity quilt which was the May task.

I haven't made any progress on the procrastination quilting,  maybe next week.

I did resurrect a project I started more than 30 years ago!

I had finished the little rocking horse and attached it to the wreath.
Last year I finished these 2 squares

This week I have finished 5 more squares!!

I have 4 more left to stitch.
It does beg the question of why it has taken so long to finish this.

I aim to stitch these over the next few days and then make them into the ornaments.
The wreath is at home so will attach them when I am next there, hopefully before Christmas.

Mid may progress

 Linking to Chookshed challenge

This months challenge was to quilt any tops for the Treasured babies charity.
I only had one unquilted.
That is now done and the binding on ready to stitch down.

I finished sewing in the ends of the baby blanket and finished 4 pairs of fingerless mitts as well as 7 scarves. They will be dropped off tomorrow for the charity KOGO.

I finall stopped procrastinating and basted 2 quilt tops. I have started the ditch and walking foot quilting on the first one. I will then do the same to the second one before trying out the fancy quilting on my new machine.
It is a big learning curve.

Finally, I did it

I am linking toDesign wall monday

I finally got the borders on the quilt and have pieced the backing and made the binding.
Close-up of the mitred border.

All the fabrics in this quilt are more than 30 years old.
Below is the backing.
If you have been quilting for a while you may remember this one.

Hopefully next week there will be a finished quilt to display.

Down the rabbit hole

I really need more work on goal setting.

Generally,  the minute I set a goal, I go off in a different direction.

I did finish knitting the baby blanket, but I still have to finish off the ends.

That did mean that I had no knitting for car journeys and I have a lot this week.

I grabbed a tub of yarn that I was given for charity projects and there was a started scarf, but it wasn't suitable for car knitting. I decided to finish it and then finished 3 more.

I knitted a pair of fingerless gloves, tweeked the pattern and made a second pair.

They still need to be sewn up.

I am anticipating knitting a few more pairs this week.

We will see what happens  now that I have made that pronouncement.

My May #5

My #5 project for Chookshed challenge is to quilt any finished tops for Treasured Babies .

I quilted most of the tops earlier this year, so I only have one left to do

I will add another challenge for the month.

I need to get this borders on things quilt.  They are cut ready.

I am hoping to get a lot more done but I want to keep my goals and expectations low.

Challenges for first week of May

I need some motivation to make progress on my quilts.

This top needs the borders attached and the corners mitred.

The borders are cut and I have started pinning the first one.

I would also like to finish knitting this baby blanket.
There are perhaps four stripes to go.

End of April

I had quite a productive month.

My aim was to do a page worth of stitches on a large cross stitch projects.

A page is approximately 8,000 stitches.

I did 9,323.

My first stitches

My progress.

April check in

My task this month is to stitch a page of a full coverage cross stitch.
That is equivalent to about 8,000 stitches.
It was a new project on March 26th.

This is what the finished design is.

Mid march update

I finished the 4 baby quilts that were on the list.
The first baby arrived this week and the quilt has gone in the mail, hence it is missing from the photograph.

I have 12 little quilts from last month that need the binding stitched down.
That pile is on the left.

I have had a To Do book for a long time.
My UFOS are all listed there.
I  make notes and plan things out but there are no allowances made for pandemics, triplets or my biggest issue,  procrastination.
Last week I cleaned the laundry rather than do a task I was procrastinating on.
I am hoping that the new list on the right might magically solve the issue.
